The National Park Authority and their consultants have worked with foresters and land managers to produce guidance on the stewardship of archaeological features found in the "Secrets of the High Woods" Lidar survey. The survey has found thousands of humps and bumps and identified them to help foresters plan their work, so that heritage is conserved whilst the woodland economy continues to be as successful as possible.
An event is taking place on the morning of Thursday 2nd March to launch these new guidelines, which will offer you the opportunity to find out more, meet colleagues and see some of the work on the ground, courtesy of Cowdray Estate. A programme for the morning can be found under events. Places on the site visits element of the morning will be limited due to the nature of the sites, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so early booking is advised.
